- Previous Answer is right. There would be no growth in adults. There is no growth because the cartillage plates in the bones have fused. Interestingly, some adults do have excess HGH production, normally due to a pituitary tumour (Craniopharyngioma). The symptom these people experience is Acromegaly. So HGH treatment in adults causes acromegaly where the bones kind of become thicker. This is noticeable in the jaw mostly, and happens instead of growth.
