Human Growth Hormone Anti Aging

Did you know that the NFL does NOT test for human growth hormone?

I read this today as I was reading about the drug/ alcohol test on the San Diego Chargers player that was shot by the police officer. It said tests show that he was intoxicated. They also tried to trace back the source of his unusual fits of rage. The NFL reported that they do urine tests for steroids but do NOT do any type of testing for human growth hormone. That requires a blood test. That explains ALOT in terms of the way the majority of modern day players look (artificially huge) and act. I always thought HGH was tested for. I thought something was fishy the last 10 years in the NFL.

2. it has to do with cost sadly - testing for hgh is very expensive compared to standard steroids however while hgh will no doubt produce a bigger athlete it is not linked to increased rage like steroids are the down side of hgh is enlarged heart and potentially cancer
3. I did know that. I don't know why. But I do see a lot of ex players, lineman walking around thin as rails now, hmmm. The NFL is a very well run league, but this does make you scratch your head for sure.

5. They cant, you cant test gor HGH, there is no secure way to do it. Because the results could be from something else other than HGH.

7. It's expensive (no excuse), and very hard to test for. It blends in with natural hormones and "scientists" that develop them stay one step ahead of the testers by developing new hgh's that can't be detected as the testers gradually figure out how to detect the ones they know about. There are thousands of formulas out there, only a few can be detected. Sorry, an English teacher would slaughter that paragraph but hopefully you got something out of it.
8. As far as what I've read that is because there really isn't any kind of accurate test for HGH. One is being deveolped though and you can bet the NFL will use it when it is ready.
9. HGH cannot be tested by any other way than a blood test, which is not allowed by almost any Sports league. That has been common knowledge for years. Even blood tests for HGH are not 100% accurate.
10. HGH remains untested because of the difficulty and expense of getting accurate readings. If a performance enhancing product is untested for and virtually impossible to accurately test for, how many players would never use it? I don't know the answer to that question but I agree with your thoughts on the huge nature of modern day players. Better sports through biochemistry.
