What will Sylvester Stallone face for pleading guilty to smuggling banned Human Growth Hormone into Australia?

He was caught red handed smuggling banned Human Growth Hormone into Australia at Sydney Airport ! Now that he has pleaded guilty through his Lawyers what punishment will he receive ? Will this be served in Australia if it is custodial, or in the US ? The amount although for "personal use" was apparently large enough to be considered trafficking. Should Hollywood Stars be treated with greater leniency than the rest of society, or should they be made to be aware of their greater influence through their high profiles ? Any sportsman would be banned for life and incarcerated, why should an actor be any different ? Another example is obviously the Paris Hilton case, should Sly serve time, that is my Question ?

Public Comments

  1. I think they should prevent the film distribution of Rambo 30 or whatever he is currently working on. That will do justice for us all.
  2. life i hope or even death
  3. He will have to face a harrowing book and made-for-TV movie deal, as well as a traumatic episode of free publicity for his next movie.
  4. The article I read stated he can receive a max fine of $19,000...since it's being tried locally, not federally. This is the same for celebrities and commoners alike (no special treatment here).
  5. Nothing. He's a celebrity. Time and time again we see celebrities, professional athletes, executives, and politicians get away with everything under the sun including drug smuggling, fraud, gun crimes, and murder. There are two sets of laws. One for the rich and famous, another fro you and I.
  6. according to the sydney morning herald- "If found guilty, Stallone faces a maximum fine of $22,000 in the local courts jurisdiction". Im not sure if it caries a jail term though. if he did get prision, he would serve in australia because there is no prisoner exchange program between australia and the usa. and no, hollywood stars should receive NO leniency because they are famous. If any thing an example should be made of them. Unfair to them as an individual perhaps, but one factor of sentencing should be to act as a deterrant to the rest of the community.
  7. don't get me wrong because i love Stallone but i think that he should get the punishment that he deserves.....if this was anyone else it would be no big deal...i wouldn't care, you wouldn't care, no one in the world would give a flying rip about this.....so yes i think that if the law absolutely requires that he be put in jail then he should be....special treatment is not fair, but then again life isn't fair. he should have to pay for what he did because even though alot of people don't like him some people do and he is an example to all of us. lying is dumb!
