Is Roger Clemens lying about steriods ?

This case facinates me - I love listening to people's words, as they twist them to their benefit, ala Barry Bonds statement "I never KNOWINGLY took steriods." Apparently, New York Yankees strength coach Brian McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids in 1998 while with the Blue Jays, and in 2000 and 2001 while with the Yankees. McNamee also claimed he injected Clemens with Human Growth Hormone in 2000. Why would this guy (McNamee) lie ? What possibly would he have to gain? He has no motive! Also, is there a way Roger is 'tricking' us with his words ? I'll give an example - when O.J. Simpson states he did not murder Nicole Brown Simpson, it's my theory in his mind that he is justifying it by telling himself she may have died from a cut to her neck, but "I could never murder the mother of my children." I know that sounds silly, but people in denial can really come up with some crazy stuff. I know-my father was an alcoholic, and he came up with some doozys in that way

1. yes he is, he is in his 40's and he is exceptionally strong, and still gets his fast balls in the 90's.

3. i look at it like everyone else has fessed up and said yea we screwed up...im pretty sure hes full of it and i completely agree with your theory as my mother is 1 that makes up storys and belives them shortly after as the truth...maybe if she went sober she might remember the actual truth but i really doubt it

7. Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens both deserve the benefit of the doubt. Both of them have been tremendous baseball players, until proven differently they both should be presumed to be innocent.
8. From the evidence, probably so, but he is innocent until proven guilty. Bonds is different because he did test positive in 2001 according to Thursday's article. However, Bonds is not guilty of lying or obstruction of justice until proven. We have to wait for these two situations to unfold before judging.
9. It seems obvious now, you can't dominate and win Cy Youngs in your 40s without a little chemical help.
